I had kind of a hellish, busy week, so I wrote only on Sunday and Wednesday. *sigh* I might still write today, but since I have so much else to do, I’m not sure I’ll be able to. *sighs again* I’ll count any words today toward next week, then.
Last Check-in Wordcount + ChapterCount (+ scene count if you’re revising): 19,391 words and seven chapters
Current WC + CC (or SC): 21,839 words and eight and a half chapters
WIP Issues this week: Not too many issues with the WIP itself, just finding the time and energy to write.
What I learned this week in writing: I’m still working “off-synopsis” in a way. (I’m expanding on a few sentences in the synopsis that didn’t go into detail.) It’s quite possible to plot and pants at the same time!
What distracted me this week while writing: A lot of work and a lot of stress.
Last 200 words: Can’t.
I have news I’ll be able to share soon! I know at least one of you saw it and was kind enough to give me a shout-out about it anyway. 😉 But I’m waiting for the big announcement next week.

I’m intrigued to know what the news is! 🙂 At least you got some words down this week. I know what you mean about plotting and pantsing at once – I deviated from my outline a bit in the middle and now I’m trying to pull all the pieces together!
Sorry I keep teasing everyone. I actually could have started teasing in early October, or maybe even mid-September, but I’ve been good and have kept my mouth shut. XD
It feels nice to know I have a synopsis to fall back on, but I still have the freedom to write ideas as I think of them!
Can’t wait to hear your good news!
And great job this week, in spite of how busy you were.
I have an outline that’s numbered according to the chapters, which I guess would help me figure out the synopsis when the time comes, but every day, before I write anything, I go through the particular chapter on the outline. If it sounds right, I go ahead. If it doesn’t, I figure it out.
Hope your next week is filled with more productivity! 🙂
I can’t wait to share it! I’ve really had to learn the art of patience as a writer! XD
Thank you, you too!
I usually do outlines by chapter, but I didn’t this time for some reason. It’s still working all right, though.
I love pantsing and plotting at the same time! I have the confidence to do whatever I want because I know exactly where I’m going kind of thing. ^_^
I’m looking forward to the big news as well. 😀
Yup, exactly! And you can always change things later.
Thanks! I can’t wait to tell everyone!
I also kind of plot and pants simultaneously. I always have a plot outline but it tends to be pretty rough and I change my mind about a lot of things as I go along … so even when I plan out a whole story, it always ends up way different than I expected. I look forward to hearing what your news is! 🙂
I used to just pants and it didn’t work well for me for most of my WIPs, so yeah, even though the outline changes, it helps to have one!
I hope to share it soon! By the end of next week, if I get the go-ahead!
Congrats on secret news 😉 Dying to hear!
Plotting and pantsing at the same time!? What is this wizardry you speak of?? 😛 As long as it works for you, happy writing!
Thanks! I’m reallllly hoping to share soon! I’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while.
It sounds impossible, but it does work. XD At least for me!
WOW, your progress this week is astounding! Congratulations, and woo-hoo for your big news, whatever it is!! 😀
Thanks! I really wish I could write more days of the week, but the stuff falling on my lap just does not stop as of late! Thank you! 😉
I just had to look up “plot and pants” because I didn’t know what it meant, and yet it’s something I do all the time! I swear half the time while writing I go, “Plot, what plot?” But there are things that have stuck from the beginning, so I can’t say I make it *all* up as I go. 😉
And wow, I can’t believe you’re already past 20k despite not having a whole lot of time to write! Congrats!
So excited about your good news! 😀
I learned “pantsing” from the writers on Twitter, lol, but yeah, that describes what I used to do. Now I plot, but there’s a bit of pantsing, too.
Well, I had 9000 words I wrote in mid-2012, so really I’ve only written like 11,000 sine January. XD But still. I could have gotten so much more done if I just had the brain power.
Congrats on the great news. Can’t wait to hear it!
I outline and pants and beat out scenes in no particular order. There’s not a right way to do it so why not do it your way? 🙂 Sounds like you had a great week and good luck with what’s to come! 🙂
Thanks! I’m excited to share it!
Thanks. I wish I had better writing weeks, but it’s better than nothing. 😉 You too!
